Imagine Health Community Performance

A new project using the resources of Chicago's Scrap Mettle SOUL company, starting 10 January 2003

Starting: January 2003 in London

Aim
Utilize the 'Imagine' philosophy and Community Performance to create a grassroots change in the direction of better community health--broadly defined.
By
interesting participants and supporters in this project goal and to get them to support and attend the kickoff--the performances and workshops with Scrap Mettle SOUL and Bliss Browne of Imagine Chicago.

The Kickoff will accomplish three things
a. Create buy-in, enthusiasm and commitment among attendees.
b. Provide the experience of a community performance on health.
c. Create a plan with the person power necessary to achieve it.

The project will have the following major elements
a. Sacred commitment among members
b. Annual Community Performance and year-round process to serve as an engine creating project enthusiasm
c. Imagine dialogue and community change work going on in and around the network activated by the Community Performance process.

How

We in London will begin storygathering and Imagine work while SMS and Bliss are present and continue the process when they leave.

We will continue the Community Performance process and produce its own play on the theme of community health within the next year. Play will be written/directed by Corriere/Geer and during production local writer and director will be in training.

The seasons of community performance--storygathering, scripting and public reading, site preparation, rehearsal and performance--will each provide a venue and an inspiration to deeper and stronger imagine work on community health, including colloquiums, walks, community meals, festivals, arts....

The next year's community performance will develop from the dialogue created by the first one. It will deal with another aspect of community health and healing, from a different and inspiring angle. It will provide energy and focus for the grassroots community change work going on around it.

As our project becomes better known you will help other communities to create their own similar projects.
