Kate Start is a management consultant specialising in organisational development projects using Appreciative Inquiry. Kate has used the process in a number of different situations, which have included:

South Southwark Primary Care Groups: researching priorities for service development incorporating changing practices for the PCG. | |
| South Bank University facilitating students to make constructive changes to their programme. | |
| English Heritage: team development. | |
| Family Services Unit South London: developing new ventures | |
| Health First: helping schools set up breakfast clubs in Lambeth Lewisham and Southwark. |
Kate is currently using appreciative inquiry in two projects in Southwark involving a range of stakeholders looking at maximising teenage sexual health and setting up breakfast clubs in schools.
She has lived and worked in Southwark for nearly thirty years and has seen the area change and develop over this time. Kate is chair of the Post Box Project, vice chair of Southwark Chamber of Commerce and a committee member of the Local Management Committee of the South London Family Services Unit.
Kate, a State Registered Dietitian, has an MBA from London Business School and an MA in Management Development and Personal Learning from the University of East Anglia.
